Interaction in Online Learning

As a student in online courses I have researched and learned a lot about the many ways interaction occurs. Promoting interactivity and connectivity amongst participants is an integral part of online learning. It is through interaction that students will gain valuable learning experiences.

The richness of the learning experience however, depends upon the learner. Prior to starting this program my interaction in an online forum was limited to internet access and email. I am now able to interact via wikis, blog, webpages, surveys and online quizzes. What I have learned is that interaction is not limited to face to face interactions, it can occur in a multitude of mediums as well.

As humans interactions is an integral part of who we are. I have found though that the advantages of online education make a significant impact in higher education today and, as technology evolves, promise to deliver even greater benefits in the future (Blackboard, 2000).
